Ingredients

  • 1½ cups flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

1. Make the crust

  • Mix flour + sugar
  • Rub in butter until crumbly
  • Add egg yolk + water → form dough
  • Chill for 20–30 minutes
  • Roll out, place in tart pan, and bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes

2. Prepare the filling

  • Heat milk in a pan
  • In a bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolk
  • Slowly add warm milk, then cook until thick
  • Stir in vanilla and let cool

3. Assemble

  • Spread custard into cooled crust
  • Arrange strawberries on top

4. Glaze (optional)

  • Warm jam and brush over strawberries for shine ✨
