Here’s a simple, hearty ground beef and potatoes recipe—quick, budget-friendly, and full of flavor.


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (≈450 g) ground beef
  • 3–4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced small
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried thyme (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water
  • Optional: chopped parsley, shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Potatoes:
    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add diced potatoes, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender.
    • Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef:
    • In the same skillet, add remaining oil.
    • Cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add Garlic & Seasoning:
    • Stir in garlic, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Combine:
    • Return potatoes to the skillet.
    • Add a splash of beef broth or water to help everything come together.
    • Stir and cook for another 3–5 minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with parsley or sprinkle cheese on top if desired. Serve hot.

💡 Tips:

  • Add bell peppers or peas for extra veggies.
  • For a spicy kick, add chili flakes or hot sauce.
  • Top with a fried egg for a hearty breakfast-style meal.
