Chili con carne

Here’s a hearty, flavorful Chili Con Carne—rich, spicy, and perfect with rice, bread, or tortilla chips 🌶️🥩


🌶️ Chili Con Carne

Ingredients:

  • 500 g ground beef (or diced beef)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1–2 tbsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (400 g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Cook the beef
    Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Remove excess fat if needed.
  2. Sauté vegetables
    Add onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Cook until softened, 5–6 minutes.
  3. Add spices
    Stir in chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute to release aromas.
  4. Add liquids & beans
    Pour in diced tomatoes and broth. Add kidney beans. Stir to combine.
  5. Simmer
    Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30–40 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  6. Serve
    Spoon chili into bowls. Top with cheese, sour cream, or cilantro if desired.

✨ Tips:

  • For extra depth, add 1–2 squares of dark chocolate or a dash of cinnamon while simmering.
  • Adjust spice level with cayenne pepper or jalapeños.
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day!
