Twix cookies

Posted on January 22, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious Twix Cookies recipe—soft shortbread, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate, just like the candy bar 🍪🍫

Twix Cookies

Ingredients

Shortbread Cookie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt

Caramel Layer

  • 1 cup caramel squares (unwrapped) or thick caramel sauce
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Chocolate Topping

  • 1½ cups milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp shortening or coconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)

Instructions

1. Make the cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in vanilla.
  4. Add flour and salt; mix until dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, place on lined baking sheet.
  6. Press flat with the bottom of a glass.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes, just until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool completely.

2. Add caramel

  1. Melt caramel squares with heavy cream over low heat or microwave.
  2. Spoon caramel onto each cooled cookie.
  3. Let set slightly (about 10 minutes).

3. Add chocolate

  1. Melt chocolate (with shortening if using).
  2. Spoon or spread over caramel layer.
  3. Let chocolate set fully at room temp or refrigerate briefly.

Tips & Variations

  • Shortcut: Use store-bought shortbread cookies
  • Salted Twix: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on chocolate
  • Bar version: Press dough into a pan and cut into bars
  • Thicker caramel: Chill cookies before adding chocolate

If you’d like, I can also give you a no-bake Twix cookie, Twix bars, or a mini bite-size version 😄
