Ohhh yes 😍 Tomato Sandwich—simple, juicy, and bursting with fresh flavors. Here’s a classic, no-fuss version:

Classic Tomato Sandwich

Ingredients (Serves 1–2)

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or your favorite)
  • 1–2 ripe tomatoes, sliced thick
  • 2–3 leaves of lettuce (optional)
  • 1–2 teaspoons mayonnaise (or more, to taste)
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: a dash of garlic powder, fresh basil leaves, or a drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep the bread
    • Lightly toast the bread if you like a little crunch.
    • Spread mayonnaise evenly on one or both slices.
  2. Layer the ingredients
    • Place lettuce (if using) on one slice of bread.
    • Arrange tomato slices on top.
    • Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Optional: add garlic powder or basil.
  3. Assemble
    • Top with the second slice of bread.
  4. Serve
    • Cut in half and enjoy immediately while the tomato is fresh and juicy.

🔥 Tips & Variations

  • Use ripe, in-season tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • Add a slice of cheddar, mozzarella, or goat cheese for extra richness.
  • For a Southern-style version, add a thin layer of mustard or bacon.
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar takes it to gourmet level.

This is basically summer in a sandwich—juicy, simple, and delicious 😏

I can also give a grilled tomato sandwich with melted cheese version if you want something warm and melty.

Do you want me to give that version?
