Texas Trash Dip

Posted on January 24, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes šŸ˜ā€”Texas Trash Dip is basically a loaded, spicy, creamy dip that’s addictively good. Perfect for game day, parties, or just because you deserve it. Here’s a classic recipe:

šŸŒ¶ļø Texas Trash Dip

Servings: 8–10
Time: ~25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel tomatoes (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained
  • 1 (4 oz) can chopped green chilies (optional extra heat)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Optional toppings: sliced jalapeƱos, chopped green onions, sour cream

Instructions

1ļøāƒ£ Cook beef & aromatics

  • In a skillet over medium heat, sautĆ© onion and garlic until softened.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water (per seasoning packet instructions).

2ļøāƒ£ Mix with cream cheese & cheese

  • Lower heat and add cream cheese. Stir until melted and creamy.
  • Mix in Rotel, green chilies, and half of the shredded cheddar & mozzarella.

3ļøāƒ£ Simmer & serve

  • Cook 5–7 minutes until everything is hot and melted together.
  • Transfer to a serving dish, top with remaining cheese, jalapeƱos, or green onions.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced baguette.

šŸ”„ Tips & Variations

  • Extra spicy: Add hot sauce or chopped fresh jalapeƱos
  • Beans optional: Some versions add black beans or pinto beans for texture
  • Make ahead: Prepare up to step 2, refrigerate, and reheat before serving
  • Slow cooker option: Cook beef mixture, then add cream cheese & cheese and keep on low to stay melty

If you want, I can also give a Texas Trash Dip with layers, extra cheesy version, or ā€œdump and bakeā€ sheet-pan style for parties.

Do you want me to do one of those?
