Sweet Baby Ray’s Crockpot Chicken

Posted on January 21, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and tasty Sweet Baby Ray’s Crockpot Chicken recipe—perfect for an easy, hands-off dinner. This is the classic method using their famous BBQ sauce.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 bottle (about 18 oz) Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce (any flavor you like)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional for serving:

  • Hamburger buns (for sandwiches)
  • Coleslaw (adds crunch)
  • Rice or mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken:
    • Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder if using.
  2. Add to crockpot:
    • Place chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour the BBQ sauce over the top, making sure the chicken is coated.
  3. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until chicken is tender and fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).
  4. Shred (optional):
    • For shredded BBQ chicken, remove the chicken, shred with two forks, then stir it back into the sauce.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve as-is with sides like mashed potatoes or rice, or use for BBQ chicken sandwiches with buns and coleslaw.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra flavor, add sliced onions or a splash of apple cider vinegar to the sauce.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3–4 days and taste even better the next day.
  • Can also be doubled for a crowd—just make sure your crockpot is large enough.

If you want, I can also give a super-fast 3-ingredient version that uses just chicken, Sweet Baby Ray’s, and a little seasoning—ready with almost zero prep.

Do you want me to do that?
