Here’s a delicious Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread recipe—rich, moist, and loaded with caramelized pecans and a touch of sweetness 🌰🍞

🌰 Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread

Ingredients (makes 1 loaf)

For the bread:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted lightly for extra flavor)

Optional glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F)
  • Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and lightly flour it

2. Dry ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

3. Wet ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk until just combined

4. Add pecans

  • Fold in chopped pecans gently

5. Bake

  • Pour batter into prepared pan
  • Bake 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
  • Cool in the pan 10 minutes → transfer to wire rack

6. Optional glaze

  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla
  • Drizzle over cooled loaf

🔥 Tips

  • Toast pecans lightly for deeper flavor
  • Don’t overmix batter → bread stays tender
  • Wrap leftover bread in foil or airtight container to keep moist
  • You can substitute half the brown sugar with white sugar for a lighter sweetness

If you want, I can give you a faster 30-minute version that’s moist, nutty, and perfect for breakfast or snacks 🌰🍞
