Stewed Potatoes

Posted on March 9, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Stewed Potatoes recipe—soft, flavorful potatoes cooked slowly in a savory broth. 🥔🍲

Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1–2 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: carrots, celery, herbs (thyme, parsley)

Instructions

1. Sauté Aromatics

  • In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft and fragrant.

2. Add Potatoes

  • Add diced potatoes (and optional carrots/celery).
  • Stir to coat with butter and aromatics.

3. Add Liquid & Seasoning

  • Pour in broth until potatoes are mostly covered.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.

4. Simmer

  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  • Cover and simmer 20–25 minutes until potatoes are tender.

5. Finish & Serve

  • Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Serve hot as a side dish with meat or poultry.

✅ Tip: For a thicker, creamier stew, mash a few potatoes slightly in the pot and stir.

If you want, I can also give you:
