🍖 Slow Cooker Ribs (Fall-Off-the-Bone Easy)

Tender, juicy ribs with minimal effort — perfect when you don’t want to fire up the grill.

đź›’ Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 2–3 lbs baby back ribs or St. Louis–style ribs
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional for heat)

🔥 Instructions

  1. Prep ribs:
    • Remove membrane from the back of the ribs (use a knife to loosen, then pull off).
    • Cut racks into sections to fit your slow cooker.
  2. Season:
Mix brown sugar and spices. Rub generously over both sides of ribs.
  3. Add to slow cooker:
Stand ribs upright along the sides (meat side facing out if possible).
Brush with half the BBQ sauce.
  4. Cook:
    • Low: 7–8 hours
    • High: 4–5 hours
(Ribs are done when very tender but not falling apart completely.)
  5. Finish for caramelized top (recommended):
    • Preheat oven broiler.
    • Transfer ribs to baking sheet.
    • Brush with remaining BBQ sauce.
    • Broil 3–5 minutes until bubbly and slightly charred.

🔥 Flavor Variations

  • Add 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar for tang.
  • Use honey instead of brown sugar.
  • Add a splash of liquid smoke for deeper BBQ flavor.
  • Try dry-rub only and serve sauce on the side.

🥗 Great Side Dishes

  • Coleslaw
  • Cornbread
  • Baked beans
  • Garlic butter green beans
