Here’s a classic and easy Slow Cooker Beef recipe that works for a tender, flavorful roast you can use for sandwiches, tacos, or dinner. 🥩


🍲 Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 4 medium carrots, chopped (optional)
  • 4 medium potatoes, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker:
    • Place sliced onion, garlic, carrots, and potatoes in the bottom.
  2. Season the beef:
    • Rub beef roast with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
    • Place the roast on top of the vegetables.
  3. Add liquid:
    • Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the roast.
  4. Cook:
    • Low: 8–9 hours
    • High: 4–5 hours
    • Cook until beef is tender and shreds easily.
  5. Shred (optional):
    • Remove roast and shred with two forks. Return to slow cooker to mix with juices.

  • Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
  • Make sandwiches or tacos with the shredded beef.
  • Spoon over egg noodles for a classic beef dinner.

💡 Tips:

  • Browning the roast in a skillet before slow cooking adds deeper flavor (optional).
  • For thicker gravy, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir in during the last 20 minutes.
