Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread

Posted on January 27, 2026 by Admin

Ohhhh yes 😎🔥 — Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread is basically sloppy joes and garlic bread hooking up and making magic. Here’s a full recipe to take it to maximum flavor:

Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread

Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joe Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder or smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional, for balance)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For Garlic Bread

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp parsley (optional)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar (optional, for cheesy kick)

Instructions

1. Make the Sloppy Joe Filling

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion + garlic until soft.
  3. Add ground meat, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, brown sugar, salt & pepper.
  5. Simmer 5–10 minutes until thickened and saucy.

2. Prep Garlic Bread

  1. Preheat oven 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix softened butter + minced garlic + parsley.
  3. Spread garlic butter evenly on cut sides of bread.

3. Assemble

  1. Spoon sloppy joe mixture evenly over garlic bread.
  2. Optional: sprinkle cheese on top.

4. Bake

  • Bake 10–15 minutes until cheese melts and edges are golden.
  • Optional: broil 1–2 min for extra crisp edges.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t drown the bread: the filling should be thick, not soupy.
  • Cheese layer = next-level comfort.
  • Make-ahead hack: assemble and refrigerate, bake just before serving.
  • Cut into slabs for sharing or individual servings.

If you want, I can also give a spicy jalapeño-cheese version, a mini slider version, or an oven-baked cheesy pull-apart tray version next.

Do you want me to do that?
