πŸ›’ Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1Β½ cups Sloppy Joe sauce (Manwich or homemade)
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or rotini)
OR 3 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1½–2 cups shredded cheddar or Colby-Jack cheese
  • Salt & pepper to taste

πŸ”₯ Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Grease a 9Γ—13 baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in Sloppy Joe sauce; season with salt & pepper.
  5. Assemble:
    • Pasta version: Stir cooked pasta into the meat mixture, then spread into dish.
    • Tater tot version: Spread meat mixture into dish, top evenly with tots.
  6. Sprinkle cheese over the top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes, then serve.

🌟 Variations

  • Biscuit topping: Add quartered canned biscuits instead of pasta/tots.
  • Extra cheesy: Mix cheese into the filling and on top.
  • Sweet & tangy: Add 1–2 tbsp brown sugar.
  • Spicy: Use pepper jack cheese + a pinch of red pepper flakes.

This one’s perfect with a side salad or some pickles for crunch πŸ˜‹
If you want, I can also do a slow-cooker version, from-scratch Sloppy Joe sauce, or kid-friendly tweak.
