Instructions
1. Prepare the mashed potatoes
- Boil potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until soft.
- Drain and mash with butter, milk, and salt until smooth.
2. Cook the filling
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook onion until soft, then add garlic.
- Add ground lamb or beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, vegetables, broth, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.
- Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thick.
3. Assemble
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish.
- Spoon mashed potatoes evenly on top.
- Sprinkle cheese if desired.
4. Bake
- Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden.
Serving
Serve hot with:
