🥗 Seven-Layer Dip

Seven-layer dip is a popular party appetizer, especially in the U.S., featuring layers of flavorful ingredients that are scooped up with tortilla chips. It’s colorful, creamy, and perfect for Iftari or casual gatherings.

🥄 Ingredients

  1. Refried beans – 1 can (16 oz)
  2. Guacamole – 1 cup (homemade or store-bought)
  3. Sour cream – 1 cup, optionally mixed with 1 tsp taco seasoning
  4. Salsa – 1 cup, chunky or smooth
  5. Shredded cheese – 1–2 cups (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  6. Diced tomatoes – 1/2 cup
  7. Sliced black olives & chopped green onions – 1/4 cup each

Optional extras:

  • Jalapeño slices for heat
  • Cilantro for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Layer Refried Beans: Spread beans evenly on the bottom of a shallow dish (pie dish or casserole).
  2. Add Guacamole: Spread a layer of guacamole over the beans.
  3. Add Sour Cream: Spread the seasoned sour cream on top.
  4. Add Salsa: Spoon salsa evenly over the sour cream.
  5. Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the salsa layer.
  6. Add Fresh Veggies: Top with diced tomatoes.
  7. Add Final Garnishes: Sprinkle olives, green onions, and optional jalapeños or cilantro.

🍽️ Serving

  • Serve with tortilla chips, pita chips, or veggie sticks.
  • Keep refrigerated until serving, but allow to sit 5–10 minutes at room temperature for easier scooping.

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, mix taco seasoning into the refried beans.
  • Layer ingredients gently to keep it visually appealing.
  • Make ahead of time; it tastes even better when flavors meld.
