Risoles Mayo,

Posted on March 7, 2026 by Admin

Risoles Mayo (Mayonnaise Risoles) are crispy fried rolls filled with creamy chicken, eggs, and mayonnaise. They’re popular street snacks and party foods in Indonesia. 🥟🧀

Ingredients

For the crepe wrappers

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1½ cups milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil

For the filling

  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 boiled eggs, chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce or ketchup
  • ½ cup diced carrots (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For coating

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

For frying

  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

1. Make the wrappers

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, egg, milk, salt, and melted butter until smooth.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled pan and pour a thin layer of batter.
  3. Cook like a thin crepe (about 1 minute). Remove and repeat until batter is finished.

2. Prepare the filling

Mix shredded chicken, chopped boiled eggs, mayonnaise, chili sauce, carrots, salt, and pepper.

3. Fill the risoles

  • Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  • Fold the sides and roll tightly like a spring roll.

4. Coat

  • Dip each roll in beaten egg.
  • Roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.

5. Fry

Heat oil to medium heat and fry the risoles for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

6. Serve

Serve hot with chili sauce or ketchup.

💡 Tips

  • Add cheese slices inside for extra creamy risoles. 🧀
  • Chill the filled rolls for 30 minutes before frying so they hold their shape.
  • They can be frozen before frying for later use.

If you want, I can also show you the Indonesian bakery-style Risoles Mayo recipe (super creamy filling with smoked beef and cheese) which is the most famous version.
