Here’s a simple and flavorful Ramen recipe — you can make it from scratch or upgrade instant ramen into a hearty meal 🍜✨

Classic Homemade Ramen

Serves: 2
Time: ~30 minutes

Ingredients

For the Broth:

  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp miso paste (optional for depth)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

For the Noodles:

  • 4 oz (115 g) ramen noodles or egg noodles

Toppings (optional but recommended):

  • Soft-boiled eggs
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sautéed mushrooms
  • Baby spinach or bok choy
  • Sliced cooked chicken, pork, or tofu
  • Nori (seaweed) strips
  • Sesame seeds
  • Chili flakes or Sriracha for spice

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Broth

  • In a pot, combine broth, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, miso (if using), and sesame oil.
  • Bring to a simmer for 10–15 minutes to let flavors meld.
  • Remove ginger slices before serving.

2️⃣ Cook the Noodles

  • Cook ramen noodles according to package instructions.
  • Drain and divide into bowls.

3️⃣ Assemble the Ramen

  • Pour hot broth over noodles.
  • Top with desired ingredients: soft-boiled eggs, greens, mushrooms, meat, and garnishes.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Serve immediately while hot, with optional chili or extra soy sauce.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra richness, add a spoon of butter or a dash of miso paste to the broth.
  • Roast or pan-fry your protein for more flavor before adding to the soup.
  • Customize toppings to your preference: corn, bamboo shoots, or shredded carrots work well.
