A pound cake is a classic, rich, buttery cake that’s traditionally made with equal parts of butter, sugar, eggs, and flour—hence the name “pound.”


🍰 Classic Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking powder (optional, for a lighter texture)
  • Pinch of salt

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and grease a loaf pan.

  5. Mix dry ingredients:
    In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Combine:
    Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix gently—don’t overmix.
  7. Bake:
    Pour into the pan and bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool & serve:
    Let it cool before slicing.

  • Chocolate chips or cocoa powder
  • Almond or cardamom flavor
  • Marble (vanilla + chocolate mix)
