🥩 Pork Chops

Pork chops are versatile cuts from the loin of the pig. They can be pan-seared, baked, grilled, or breaded, and pair well with savory, sweet, or tangy sauces.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 2–4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about ¾–1 inch thick)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, rosemary, thyme

Optional Sauce/Topping:

  • Apple sauce, pan gravy, or mustard cream sauce

🍳 Cooking Methods

1️⃣ Pan-Seared Pork Chops (Classic Method)

  1. Season pork chops on both sides with salt, pepper, and any optional spices.
  2. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chops 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until golden brown.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and cook until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  5. Let rest 3–5 minutes before serving.

2️⃣ Oven-Baked

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sear chops in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side to brown.
  3. Transfer skillet to oven and bake 10–15 minutes until cooked through.

3️⃣ Optional Breaded or Smothered

  • Bread chops with seasoned flour or breadcrumbs and pan-fry.
  • Or smother chops with onions, mushrooms, and a gravy for “smothered pork chops.”

🌟 Tips

  • Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking — pork is best juicy at 145°F (63°C).
  • Bone-in chops tend to be more flavorful and stay juicier than boneless.
  • Resting after cooking helps retain juices.
  • Pair with roasted potatoes, apples, rice, or sautéed vegetables.

I can also provide a garlic-herb pan-seared version, a crispy breaded pork chop, or a southern-style smothered pork chop recipe. Which one would you like?
