Pork Chop Supreme

Posted on March 2, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic, comforting Pork Chop Supreme recipe — tender pork chops baked in a creamy, savory sauce. This is an old-fashioned favorite that’s easy and family-friendly.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4–6 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions (optional but traditional topping)

Instructions

1. Preheat

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.

2. Brown the pork chops (recommended)

Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown chops 2–3 minutes per side.
(This step adds flavor but can be skipped if short on time.)

3. Prepare the sauce

In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, and sour cream until smooth.

4. Assemble

Place sliced onions in the bottom of the baking dish.
Lay pork chops on top.
Pour soup mixture evenly over the chops.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar on top.

5. Bake

Cover with foil and bake 35–45 minutes, until pork reaches 145°F (63°C).
Remove foil for the last 10 minutes and add French fried onions if using.

6. Rest & Serve

Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Serving Ideas

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Rice
  • Buttered egg noodles
  • Steamed green beans

Tips for Best Results

  • For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms to the onion layer.
  • Use thick-cut chops to prevent drying out.
  • Want it richer? Stir 2 oz cream cheese into the sauce.

If you’d like, I can also give a slow cooker Pork Chop Supreme version that cooks low and slow for ultra-tender results.
