🍫 Pecan Pie Brownies

🔹 Ingredients (makes 9–12 brownies)

Brownie Base:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Pecan Topping:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp corn syrup (or maple syrup)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

🔹 Instructions

1. Prepare oven and pan

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper

2. Make brownie base

  • In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla
  • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined
  • Spread batter evenly in prepared pan

3. Make pecan topping

  • In a separate bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt
  • Spread topping evenly over brownie batter

4. Bake

  • Bake 25–30 minutes, or until topping is bubbly and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean
  • Let cool completely before cutting

5. Serve

  • Cut into squares
  • Optional: drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce for extra indulgence

🔹 Tips

  • Use toasted pecans for extra flavor
  • For fudgier brownies, bake a few minutes less
  • Can also layer brownies first, then bake pecan topping separately and pour warm topping over cooled brownies for a more gooey finish
