Pan-fried halloumi

Posted on March 10, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and tasty way to make Pan-Fried Halloumi β€” crispy on the outside, soft and salty on the inside πŸ§€πŸ”₯.

Ingredients (serves 2–3)

  • 250 g halloumi cheese, sliced 1 cm thick
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: lemon wedges, fresh herbs (mint, parsley), chili flakes

Instructions

1. Prepare the halloumi

  • Slice halloumi into 1 cm thick pieces.
  • Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (helps it crisp better).

2. Heat the pan

  • Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add olive oil.

3. Fry the halloumi

  • Place slices in the pan in a single layer.
  • Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Don’t flip too early β€” halloumi releases easily when ready.

4. Serve

  • Serve immediately while warm.
  • Optional: squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs or chili flakes if desired.

πŸ’‘ Tips

  • Halloumi is naturally salty, so no extra salt is usually needed.
  • Works great as a snack, appetizer, in salads, or in wraps.
  • For a sweet-savory twist, drizzle honey or balsamic glaze over hot halloumi.

I can also give you a honey-drizzled or spicy chili version that adds extra flavor if you want something more adventurous.

Do you want me to share that version?
