Orange creamsicle cake

Posted on March 9, 2026 by Admin

Orange Creamsicle Cake is a soft, refreshing dessert inspired by the classic orange-vanilla creamsicle flavor—sweet orange cake with creamy vanilla frosting. 🍊🎂 It tastes light, citrusy, and creamy at the same time.

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • Pinch of salt

For the Cream Frosting

  • 1 cup heavy cream or whipping cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: 2–3 tbsp orange juice or orange zest

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  4. Add vanilla, orange juice, and orange zest.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture while adding milk.

3. Bake

  • Pour batter into a greased cake pan.
  • Bake 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely.

4. Make the Frosting

  • Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until thick.
  • Add a little orange juice or zest for extra flavor.

5. Assemble

  • Spread the cream frosting over the cooled cake.
  • Garnish with orange slices or zest. 🍊

✅ Tip: Chill the cake for 1 hour before serving—it gives the best creamsicle taste.
