Monte Cristo Sliders

Posted on February 28, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a fun and indulgent recipe for Monte Cristo Sliders—mini sandwiches that are sweet, savory, and perfect for brunch or dinner:

Ingredients (Makes 8 sliders)

  • 8 small slider buns or dinner rolls
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices turkey or chicken
  • 4 slices Swiss or Gruyère cheese, halved to fit sliders
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for cooking
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Optional: Dijon mustard or raspberry preserves for serving

Instructions

1. Assemble sliders:

  1. Slice buns in half.
  2. Layer ham, turkey, and cheese on the bottom halves. Top with bun tops.

2. Prepare the egg batter:

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.

3. Cook the sliders:

  1. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Dip each slider into the egg mixture, coating all sides.
  3. Place sliders in the skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.

4. Serve:

  • Dust with powdered sugar.
  • Serve with optional Dijon mustard or raspberry preserves for dipping.

Tips

  • Cheese choice: Swiss is traditional, but Gruyère adds a nuttier flavor.
  • Make ahead: Assemble sliders and keep in fridge; cook just before serving.
  • Extra indulgence: Use brioche or challah rolls for a richer, slightly sweet flavor.

I can also give you a baked Monte Cristo slider version where you layer all the sliders in a baking dish, pour an egg mixture over them, and bake for a hands-off method—perfect for feeding a crowd. Do you want that version?
