Mie Gacoan (Spicy Indonesian Noodles)
Ingredients (1–2 servings)
Noodles
- 200 g egg noodles or ramen noodles
Toppings

- Fried wonton skin or fried onions
- Spring onions
- Lime
Instructions
1. Make chili oil
- Blend dried chilies, fresh chilies, and garlic (rough paste).
- Heat oil until hot, then pour over chili paste.
- Stir carefully and let cool. (🔥 This is the signature heat)
2. Cook noodles
- Boil noodles until just tender.
- Drain well and set aside.
3. Cook chicken topping
- Heat oil, sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground chicken, season with salt & white pepper.
- Cook until dry and slightly crispy.
4. Assemble sauce
- In a bowl: soy sauce, sweet soy, sesame oil, sugar, and chili oil.
5. Toss noodles
- Add hot noodles to the sauce.
- Mix well until coated.
- Top with chicken, garnish, and extra chili oil if brave 😈
How to Adjust Like Mie Gacoan Levels

- Level 2–3: 1–2 tbsp chili oil
- Level 4–5: 3 tbsp + extra chili flakes
