Meatloaf with Ritz crackers

Posted on February 26, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Meatloaf with Ritz Crackers recipe — super tender, slightly buttery, and flavorful thanks to the crushed crackers.

🥩 Ritz Cracker Meatloaf

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (about 1 sleeve)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 2 slices cheddar or American cheese (optional, for a cheesy center)

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, soak crushed Ritz crackers in milk for 2–3 minutes.
  • Add ground beef, eggs, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Mix gently until combined — don’t overwork to keep meatloaf tender.

3️⃣ Shape & Assemble

  • Place half the mixture in the loaf pan.
  • Optional: Layer cheese slices in the middle.
  • Top with remaining meat mixture and shape into a loaf.
  • Spread ketchup evenly over the top.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 50–60 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Optional: Broil 2–3 minutes at the end to caramelize the ketchup topping.

5️⃣ Rest & Serve

  • Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple side salad.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra flavor: Add chopped bell peppers, pickles, or sautéed mushrooms to the mix.
  • Cheesy twist: Mix shredded cheese into the meat mixture for pockets of melted cheese throughout.
  • Mini meatloaves: Make individual portions in a muffin tin for faster cooking and fun presentation.

I can also provide a slow-cooker version of Ritz cracker meatloaf that stays extra moist and hands-off.

Do you want me to provide that version?
