making a butter spread.

Posted on April 7, 2026 by Admin

Making your own butter spread is simple and lets you control flavor, salt, and texture. You can go from a basic soft spread to flavored versions like garlic or honey butter.

🧈 1. Basic Butter Spread (Soft & Spreadable)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (softened, not melted)
  • 2–4 tbsp neutral oil (sunflower or canola)
  • Pinch of salt (if using unsalted butter)

Method

  1. Let butter soften at room temperature
  2. Whisk or blend with oil until smooth
  3. Adjust oil depending on how soft you want it
  4. Store in a container in the fridge

👉 The oil keeps it soft even when cold, so it spreads easily on bread.

🧄 2. Garlic Butter Spread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt to taste

Method

Mix everything until smooth. Chill and use on:

  • Bread
  • Naan
  • Grilled chicken

🍯 3. Honey Butter (Sweet)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2–3 tbsp honey

Method

Whip together until light and creamy. Great for:

  • Toast
  • Pancakes
  • Paratha

🌿 4. Herb Butter Spread

Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Mixed herbs (oregano, thyme, parsley)
  • Garlic (optional)

Mix and chill—perfect for steaks or roasted veggies.

💡 Tips

  • Use good-quality butter for best taste
  • Don’t overheat—keep butter soft, not melted
  • Store in fridge for up to 1–2 weeks
  • You can freeze flavored butter in small portions

🔥 Pro idea

Roll your butter spread into a log using plastic wrap, chill it, and slice into rounds—this looks very “restaurant-style” when serving.

If you want, I can help you make a market-style margarine/butter blend like store brands or a low-fat version.
