Here’s a creamy, comforting classic—macaroni and cheese 🧀


🍝 Macaroni and Cheese

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups macaroni (elbow pasta)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1½–2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar works best)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta
    Boil macaroni in salted water until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the cheese sauce
    • Melt butter in a pan
    • Add flour and cook for 1 minute (this makes a roux)
    • Slowly whisk in milk, stirring to avoid lumps
    • Cook until the sauce thickens
  3. Add cheese
    Lower heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Combine
    Add cooked macaroni to the sauce. Mix well.
  5. Season & serve
    Add salt, pepper, and paprika. Serve hot and creamy.

🧀 Optional Upgrades:

  • Baked version:
    Transfer to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs + cheese, and bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until golden.
  • Extra creamy:
    Mix in a splash of cream or a slice of processed cheese.
  • Add-ins:
    Chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, or jalapeños.

💡 Tips:

  • Use a mix of cheeses (cheddar + mozzarella) for better flavor and stretch.
  • Don’t overcook the pasta—it will soften more in the sauce.
  • Add a pinch of mustard powder for a subtle flavor boost.
