Irresistible Salted Caramel Butter Bars 🧈🍯✨
These bars have a soft buttery crust, a rich caramel center, and a light sprinkle of sea salt—sweet, salty, and very addictive.


🧾 Ingredients

For the crust & topping

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

For the caramel filling

  • 1 bag (11 oz / ~300 g) soft caramel candies
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp sea salt (plus extra for topping)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven

  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Make the dough

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until creamy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  • Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.

3️⃣ Create the base

  • Press about 2/3 of the dough evenly into the prepared pan.

4️⃣ Bake the crust

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until slightly set (not fully browned).

5️⃣ Make caramel filling

  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramel candies and heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
  • Stir in ½ tsp sea salt.

6️⃣ Assemble the bars

  • Pour caramel over the warm crust.
  • Drop small pieces of the remaining dough on top.

7️⃣ Bake again

  • Return to oven and bake 18–22 minutes until golden.

8️⃣ Cool & finish

  • Let bars cool completely.
  • Sprinkle extra sea salt on top.

🍽️ Tips for Perfect Bars

⭐ Use flaky sea salt for the best sweet-salty contrast.
