🍫 Homemade Chocolate Candy (Easy & Customizable)

Rich, smooth, and better than store-bought — perfect for gifts or sweet cravings.


🛒 Basic Ingredients (Makes ~20 small candies)

  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped baking chocolate
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or butter (for shine, optional)

Optional Mix-Ins:

  • Chopped nuts (almonds, peanuts, hazelnuts)
  • Dried fruit (cranberries, raisins)
  • Caramel pieces
  • Peanut butter
  • Sea salt
  • Crushed cookies

👩‍🍳 Method 1: Simple Melt & Pour

1️⃣ Melt the Chocolate

  • Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring each time
    OR
  • Melt gently using a double boiler (bowl over simmering water).

Stir until smooth. Add coconut oil if using.

2️⃣ Fill Molds

  • Pour into silicone candy molds
  • Or spoon small rounds onto parchment paper
  • Add toppings or mix-ins before it sets

3️⃣ Chill

  • Refrigerate 20–30 minutes until firm
  • Pop out of molds and enjoy!

🍬 Stuffed Chocolate Candy (Peanut Butter Centers)

Extra Ingredients:

  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Steps:

  1. Mix peanut butter + powdered sugar.
  2. Fill mold halfway with melted chocolate.
  3. Add small peanut butter ball.
  4. Cover with more chocolate.
  5. Chill until firm.

✨ Pro Tip: How to Temper Chocolate (Shiny & Snappy)

If using high-quality chocolate:

  1. Melt ⅔ of the chocolate to about 110–115°F (43–46°C).
  2. Remove from heat and stir in remaining chocolate.
  3. Cool to about 88–90°F (31–32°C) before molding.

Tempered chocolate gives that professional snap and glossy finish.
