Green bean

Posted on February 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, flavorful green bean recipe you can try—it works as a side for almost any meal, including Salisbury steak or roasted meats.

Garlic Butter Green Beans

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp butter (or olive oil for a lighter version)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice or a sprinkle of toasted almonds

Instructions:

  1. Blanch the green beans: Bring a pot of salted water to boil. Add green beans and cook for 2–3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop cooking.
  2. Sauté garlic: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook the beans: Add the blanched green beans to the skillet. Toss to coat in the garlic butter. Cook 3–5 minutes until heated through and slightly tender.
  4. Season and serve: Season with salt, pepper, and optional lemon juice. Sprinkle with toasted almonds if desired. Serve hot.

If you want, I can also give a roasted green bean version with parmesan and balsamic glaze that’s a little fancier but still easy.

Do you want me to give that version too?
