Posted on March 15, 2026 by Admin

🍍🍒 Glazed Ham with Pineapple and Cherries

A classic sweet-savory centerpiece, especially popular for holidays like Easter and Christmas. The caramelized glaze with pineapple and cherries gives the ham a beautiful glossy finish and rich flavor.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 3–4 kg / 6–8 lb)
  • 1 can pineapple slices (reserve the juice)
  • 10–15 maraschino cherries
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves (optional but traditional)
  • Toothpicks
  • 2–3 tbsp butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
Heat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the ham
    • Place the ham in a roasting pan.
    • Score the surface in a diamond pattern with a knife.
  3. Arrange pineapple & cherries
    • Place pineapple slices over the ham.
    • Put a cherry in the center of each slice.
    • Secure with toothpicks.
  4. Make the glaze
    In a saucepan combine:

    • Brown sugar
    • Honey
    • Dijon mustard
    • ½ cup pineapple juice
    • Butter
    • Ground cloves

Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thick.

  5. Glaze the ham
Brush the glaze generously over the ham.
  6. Bake
    • Cover loosely with foil.
    • Bake about 1½–2 hours, depending on size.
    • Every 20 minutes, baste with the glaze and pan juices.
  7. Final caramelization
Remove foil for the last 20 minutes so the glaze becomes glossy and slightly caramelized.
