Garlic Butter Cod Bites

Here’s a simple and delicious way to make Garlic Butter Cod Bites—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a rich garlic butter flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb cod fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for mild smokiness)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cod

  1. Pat cod pieces dry with paper towels.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Dredge cod pieces lightly in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.

2. Cook the Cod

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add cod bites in a single layer and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.

3. Make Garlic Butter

  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium.
  2. Add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t burn the garlic).
  3. Return cod bites to the skillet and toss gently to coat with garlic butter.

4. Serve

  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Tips:

  • Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or in tacos for a quick meal.
  • For extra crispiness, you can coat cod bites with panko breadcrumbs before frying.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for a subtle kick.
