🐟 Fish Fillet (Crispy Pan-Seared)
Simple, fast, and works with most white fish (cod, tilapia, haddock, snapper).
🛒 Ingredients
- 2–4 fish fillets (about 6 oz each)
- Salt & black pepper
- 2–3 tbsp flour (optional, for light crust)
- 2 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Optional: paprika, garlic powder, fresh parsley
🔥 Instructions
1️⃣ Pat fish dry (very important for browning).
2️⃣ Season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
3️⃣ Lightly dust with flour (shake off excess).
4️⃣ Heat oil/butter in a skillet over medium-high.
5️⃣ Cook 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness).
- Flip only once.
- Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque inside.
6️⃣ Finish with lemon juice and parsley.
🌿 Flavor Variations
- Garlic Butter: Add minced garlic in last 30 seconds.
- Blackened: Coat with Cajun seasoning and sear in a hot cast-iron skillet.
- Lemon Herb: Add thyme or dill while cooking.
- Crispy Breaded: Dip in egg, then breadcrumbs or panko before frying.
