🐟 Fish Fillet (Crispy Pan-Seared)

Simple, fast, and works with most white fish (cod, tilapia, haddock, snapper).

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2–4 fish fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 2–3 tbsp flour (optional, for light crust)
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Optional: paprika, garlic powder, fresh parsley

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Pat fish dry (very important for browning).
2️⃣ Season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
3️⃣ Lightly dust with flour (shake off excess).
4️⃣ Heat oil/butter in a skillet over medium-high.
5️⃣ Cook 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness).

  • Flip only once.
  • Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque inside.
6️⃣ Finish with lemon juice and parsley.

🌿 Flavor Variations

  • Garlic Butter: Add minced garlic in last 30 seconds.
  • Blackened: Coat with Cajun seasoning and sear in a hot cast-iron skillet.
  • Lemon Herb: Add thyme or dill while cooking.
  • Crispy Breaded: Dip in egg, then breadcrumbs or panko before frying.

🍽 Serve With

  • Rice or roasted potatoes
  • Steamed vegetables
  • Simple salad
  • Tartar sauce or garlic aioli

If you’d like, tell me:

  • Oven, air fryer, or deep-fried?
  • Mild white fish or something richer like salmon?
