🥩 Crock-Pot Steak and Potatoes

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1½–2 lbs beef steak (sirloin, chuck, or rump), cut into 2-inch cubes or strips
  • 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil (optional, for browning)

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Optional: Brown the steak

  • Heat oil in a skillet and sear steak cubes 2–3 min per side. Adds depth of flavor but isn’t required.

2️⃣ Layer in Crock-Pot

  • Place potatoes and onions at the bottom.
  • Add steak on top.
  • Sprinkle garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.

3️⃣ Cook

  • LOW: 6–8 hours
  • HIGH: 3–4 hours
  • Steak should be tender, potatoes soft but not falling apart.

4️⃣ Finish & Serve

  • Optional: stir in frozen peas or carrots in last 30 min for color and sweetness.
  • Serve directly from the Crock-Pot for easy cleanup.

🌿 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add 1 tsp smoked paprika or a splash of soy sauce.
  • Use Yukon Gold potatoes for a creamier texture or red potatoes for more bite.
  • Thickening option: remove ½ cup cooking liquid, whisk with 1 tbsp cornstarch, then stir back in to make a gravy.
