Crockpot barbecue ribs

Posted on January 28, 2026 by Admin

Say less 😄 Here’s a super-easy, fall-off-the-bone crockpot barbecue ribs recipe that basically cooks itself.

Crockpot Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2–3 lb pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for a little kick)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or apple juice)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Prep (10 minutes)

  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (huge for tenderness).
  2. Cut ribs into sections so they fit in your crockpot.
  3. Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
  4. Rub seasoning all over the ribs.

Sauce

Mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar (or apple juice), and Worcestershire sauce.

Cook

  1. Layer ribs in the crockpot (it’s fine if they overlap).
  2. Pour sauce over the ribs.
  3. Cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until very tender.

Optional but 🔥 finish

  • Carefully transfer ribs to a baking sheet.
  • Brush with extra BBQ sauce.
  • Broil 3–5 minutes until sticky and caramelized (watch closely!).

Serve with

  • Coleslaw
  • Cornbread
  • Mac & cheese
  • Potato salad

If you want, I can tweak this for sweet & smoky, spicy, no-sugar, or even Asian-style ribs.
