Say less 😄 Here’s a super-easy, fall-off-the-bone crockpot barbecue ribs recipe that basically cooks itself.
Crockpot Barbecue Ribs
Ingredients
- 2–3 lb pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
- Salt & pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for a little kick)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or apple juice)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Prep (10 minutes)
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (huge for tenderness).
- Cut ribs into sections so they fit in your crockpot.
- Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
- Rub seasoning all over the ribs.
Sauce
Mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar (or apple juice), and Worcestershire sauce.
Cook
- Layer ribs in the crockpot (it’s fine if they overlap).
- Pour sauce over the ribs.
- Cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until very tender.
Optional but 🔥 finish
- Carefully transfer ribs to a baking sheet.
- Brush with extra BBQ sauce.
- Broil 3–5 minutes until sticky and caramelized (watch closely!).
Serve with
- Coleslaw
- Cornbread
- Mac & cheese
- Potato salad
If you want, I can tweak this for sweet & smoky, spicy, no-sugar, or even Asian-style ribs.
