Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce

Posted on April 3, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, flavorful Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce that’s perfect for a hands-off dinner:

🍝 Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce

🔹 Ingredients (makes ~6–8 servings)

  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 small can (6 oz) tomato paste (optional, for thickness)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1–2 tsp dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, balances acidity)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat, fresh parsley for garnish

🔹 Instructions

1. Prep the base

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat (optional)
  • Sauté onion and garlic 2–3 minutes until fragrant

2. Assemble in crock pot

  • Add sautéed onions & garlic (or raw if skipping sauté)
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste
  • Stir in herbs, sugar, salt, and pepper

3. Slow cook

  • Cover crock pot
  • Cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours
  • Stir occasionally if possible

4. Optional enhancements

  • Add cooked ground beef, sausage, or meatballs during cooking for a meaty sauce
  • Blend partially with an immersion blender for a smoother texture

5. Serve

  • Over cooked spaghetti, pasta, or zucchini noodles
  • Top with parmesan and fresh herbs

🔹 Tips

  • Sauce thickens as it cooks; if too thick, add a little water or broth
  • Can be made ahead and freezes well
  • For extra depth, add a splash of red wine or balsamic vinegar

I can also give you a “dump-and-go” 5-minute crock pot spaghetti sauce recipe that requires almost no prep but tastes just as rich.
