Creamy Slow Cooker Chicken
Ingredients
- 2–2½ lb boneless chicken (thighs = juicier, breasts work too)
- 1 packet onion soup mix or
1 tsp onion powder + 1 tsp garlic powder - 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ cup cream cheese (cubed)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Optional upgrades:
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning or thyme
- Mushrooms or sliced onions
- ½ cup sour cream (stir in at the end)
How to make it
- Layer it
Chicken goes in the slow cooker. Sprinkle seasoning over it. - Sauce it up
Mix soup + broth, pour over chicken.
Dot with cream cheese cubes. - Cook
- LOW: 6–7 hours
- HIGH: 3–4 hours
- Finish
Shred or leave whole. Stir everything together until creamy.
Add sour cream if using. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Pro tips
- Thighs = richer, more forgiving.
- Don’t add dairy at high heat early unless it’s cream cheese or canned soup.
