Creamy Parmesan Oven-Baked Potatoes

Posted on February 24, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a rich and cheesy Creamy Parmesan Oven-Baked Potatoes recipe — golden, tender, and full of flavor 🥔🧀

Creamy Parmesan Oven-Baked Potatoes

Serves: 4
Time: ~45–50 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for lighter version)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Grease a 9×9-inch (or similar) baking dish with butter.

2️⃣ Prepare Potatoes

  • Wash, peel (optional), and thinly slice potatoes about ¼ inch thick.
  • Layer evenly in the baking dish.

3️⃣ Make Cream Mixture

  • In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
  • Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat until slightly warmed and cheese is mostly melted.

4️⃣ Assemble & Bake

  • Pour cream mixture evenly over layered potatoes.
  • Cover with foil.
  • Bake 35 minutes, then remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until top is golden and bubbly.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Let rest 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Tips & Variations

  • Add shredded mozzarella or Gruyère for extra cheesiness.
  • Mix in caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms for depth of flavor.
  • For thinner slices and faster cooking, bake uncovered for 40 minutes at 200°C (400°F), checking doneness.

If you want, I can also give a crispy, golden Parmesan potato wedges version that’s oven-baked but slightly crunchy on the outside.
