Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Posted on March 23, 2026 by Admin

Cinnamon Swirl Bread is a soft, fluffy loaf with a sweet cinnamon-sugar spiral inside—perfect for breakfast, tea time, or making French toast.

🍞 Cinnamon Swirl Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup butter (melted)
  • 1 egg

For the cinnamon swirl:

  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1½ tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp softened butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:
Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make dough:
Add egg, melted butter, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until soft and smooth (8–10 minutes).
  3. First rise:
Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours (until doubled).
  4. Shape & fill:
Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread butter, then sprinkle cinnamon-sugar evenly.
  5. Roll & place:
Roll tightly into a log and place in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Second rise:
Let it rise again for 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake:
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool & slice:
Let cool before slicing to see the beautiful swirl.

🍯 Optional Add-ons:

  • Raisins or nuts in the swirl
  • Vanilla glaze (icing sugar + milk + vanilla)
  • Cream cheese frosting for a richer version

💡 Tips:

  • Roll tightly to get a nice swirl
  • Don’t overfill or the swirl may separate
  • Use warm (not hot) milk to keep yeast active

If you want, I can share a no-yeast quick version, whole wheat version, or even a stuffed cinnamon bread with extra filling 😋
