Cinnamon roll

🍥 Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Soft, fluffy, and swirled with cinnamon-sugar, then topped with a sweet glaze—perfect for breakfast or a cozy treat. 🥐


🧾 Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • 2½ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp ground cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the dough

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Add yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover and let rise 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

2️⃣ Prepare the filling

  1. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. Spread softened butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle cinnamon-sugar evenly on top.

3️⃣ Roll and cut

  1. Roll dough into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches).
  2. Starting from the long side, roll tightly into a log.
  3. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking pan.

4️⃣ Second rise

Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.

5️⃣ Bake

Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F. Bake rolls 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

6️⃣ Glaze

Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.


🍽️ Tips

  • For extra richness, brush melted butter on rolls before baking.
  • Add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling.
  • Serve warm for the best gooey texture.
