Cinnamon roll

Posted on January 26, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes 🍩✨ cinnamon rolls—soft, gooey, and dripping with sweet icing. Let’s make a classic, bakery-style version.

🍥 Classic Cinnamon Rolls

Dough Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ¾ cup warm milk (≈110°F / 43°C)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Filling

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Glaze/Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Activate yeast
    • Mix warm milk + yeast + 1 tsp sugar. Let sit 5–10 min until foamy.
  2. Make dough
    • Combine flour, sugar, salt in a bowl.
    • Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg.
    • Knead 8–10 min until smooth and elastic.
    • Cover and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
  3. Prepare filling
    • Mix brown sugar + cinnamon.
  4. Assemble rolls
    • Roll dough into a rectangle (~16×12 in).
    • Spread softened butter over dough.
    • Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar evenly.
    • Roll tightly from the long side and cut into 12 rolls.
  5. Second rise
    • Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise 30–45 min.
  6. Bake
    • 180°C / 350°F for 20–25 min until golden.
  7. Glaze
    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • Brush dough with melted butter before rolling for extra gooey layers.
  • Sprinkle pinch of salt on glaze to balance sweetness.
  • For ooey gooey rolls, add cream cheese to icing.
  • Optional: chopped nuts or raisins in filling for extra texture.

I can also give a no-yeast “fast” cinnamon roll version that’s ready in 30 min—super soft and still indulgent.

Do you want that quick version too?
