Chocolate Croissants

Hereโ€™s how to make delicious, flaky chocolate croissants (pain au chocolat) at home ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿซ


๐Ÿฅ Chocolate Croissants

๐Ÿงพ Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought, thawed)
  • 100โ€“150g chocolate (bars or chocolate chips)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk

๐Ÿ”ฅ Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven
    Set to 200ยฐC (400ยฐF) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare pastry
    Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into rectangles.
  3. Add chocolate
    Place a strip or a few pieces of chocolate near one edge of each rectangle.
  4. Roll
    Roll tightly like a log, sealing the edges underneath.
  5. Egg wash
    Whisk egg + milk and brush over the croissants for a golden finish.
  6. Bake
    Bake for 15โ€“20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly & serve
    Best enjoyed warm with melted chocolate inside ๐Ÿ˜

๐ŸŒŸ Tips:

  • Use good-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Donโ€™t overfill or chocolate may leak out.
  • Chill the shaped croissants for 10 minutes before baking for better puff.

  • Dust with powdered sugar
  • Drizzle melted chocolate on top
  • Serve with coffee or tea
