Chocolate cake

Here’s a simple, moist chocolate cake you can make with pantry basics.


🍫 Easy Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water (or coffee for deeper flavor)
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

🧁 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F. Grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour into pan and bake 30–35 minutes (toothpick comes out clean).
  5. Cool before frosting.

🍥 Quick Chocolate Frosting (optional)

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1–2 tbsp milk

Mix until smooth and spread on cooled cake.


🔥 Tips & Variations

  • Add chocolate chips for extra richness
  • Replace water with milk for a softer crumb
  • Make it egg-free & dairy-free (this recipe already is!)
  • Turn it into cupcakes: bake 18–20 minutes
