Chicken drumsticks

Posted on April 5, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, delicious way to make juicy, flavorful chicken drumsticks with a crispy outside and tender inside. You can bake, fry, or air-fry them—but this oven version is the easiest and most reliable.

🍗 Oven-Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 8–10 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked if possible)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with foil or parchment.
  2. Season the chicken
    • Pat drumsticks dry (this helps crispiness).
    • In a bowl, mix oil, spices, and lemon juice.
    • Toss the drumsticks until well coated.
  3. Arrange and bake
    • Place drumsticks on the tray, leaving space between them.
    • Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning once halfway through.
  4. Crisp them up (optional)
    • Broil/grill for 3–5 minutes at the end for extra crisp skin.
  5. Serve
    • Serve hot with rice, fries, or a fresh salad.

🔥 Flavor Variations

  • Spicy BBQ: Add 2 tbsp barbecue sauce + chili flakes
  • Garlic Butter: Toss cooked drumsticks in melted butter + garlic + parsley
  • Honey Mustard: Mix 1 tbsp honey + 1 tbsp mustard into the marinade
  • Tandoori Style: Use yogurt, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and chili powder

✅ Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the tray—this helps them roast instead of steam
  • Use a rack if you want even crispier skin
  • Internal temperature should reach 75°C (165°F)

If you want, I can give you a desi-style spicy drumstick recipe or a crispy fried version like KFC 🍗
