Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars or a similar layered treat.

Posted on March 19, 2026 by Admin

Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are a decadent, layered treat featuring a crunchy base, gooey caramel, and a smooth chocolate topping. They’re perfect for a dessert table or just satisfying a sweet craving. You can also make similar layered bars with nuts, toffee, or cookie crumbs.

🍫 Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

🛒 Ingredients

Base:

  • 1 ½ cups crushed digestive biscuits, graham crackers, or tea biscuits
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts (optional for crunch)

Caramel layer:

  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Chocolate topping:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark)
  • 1–2 tbsp cream or butter

🔪 Method

1. Make the base

  • Mix crushed biscuits, melted butter, and nuts (if using)
  • Press into a lined 8×8 inch baking pan to form an even layer
  • Chill in the fridge while preparing the caramel

2. Make the caramel

  • In a pan, combine condensed milk, brown sugar, butter, and salt
  • Cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and golden
  • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla
  • Pour over chilled base and spread evenly
  • Let it cool slightly (or refrigerate 10–15 minutes)

3. Add chocolate topping

  • Melt chocolate with cream or butter until smooth
  • Pour over caramel layer and spread evenly
  • Chill until chocolate is set (at least 1 hour)

4. Slice & serve

  • Lift from pan using parchment paper
  • Cut into squares or rectangles
  • Store in the fridge for up to a week

🌟 Tips & Variations

  • Nutty version: Add almonds, pecans, or hazelnuts to base or caramel
  • Salty-sweet: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on chocolate before it sets
  • No-bake shortcut: Use store-bought caramel sauce instead of cooking from scratch
  • Other flavors: Peanut butter, white chocolate, or espresso powder in chocolate layer

🍯 Flavor & Texture

  • Crunchy biscuit base
  • Gooey, buttery caramel
  • Smooth chocolate finish
  • Perfect mix of textures in every bite

If you want, I can give you a quick no-bake version that sets in 30 minutes or a desi-style version with roasted chickpea flour (besan) base and jaggery caramel.
