Cajun Chicken Wings

🍗 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (for crispiness)
  • 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Wings

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  • Pat wings very dry with paper towels (this is key for crispy skin).
  • Toss wings with baking powder, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and olive oil until evenly coated.

2️⃣ Bake

  • Arrange wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet.
  • Bake 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden brown.

(Air fryer option: 200°C / 400°F for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway.)


3️⃣ Optional Cajun Butter Glaze (Highly Recommended 🔥)

Melt:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp honey (optional for balance)
  • Squeeze of lemon

Brush or toss hot wings in the butter mixture before serving.


Serve With

  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • Celery sticks
  • Extra lemon wedges

Tips

  • For extra heat, add cayenne pepper.
  • For grilled wings: Cook over medium heat 20–25 minutes, turning often.
  • For saucy wings: Toss in hot sauce mixed with melted butter.
