Here’s a simple and flavorful way to make Cabbage Steaks—perfect as a side or main for a vegetarian-friendly meal:


🥬 Roasted Cabbage Steaks

🔹 Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 cloves minced garlic
  • Optional: smoked paprika, chili flakes, or fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)
  • Optional: parmesan or nutritional yeast for a cheesy finish

🔹 Instructions

1. Prep the cabbage

  • Remove outer leaves
  • Cut cabbage into 1–1.5 inch thick slices (these are your “steaks”)
  • Keep the core intact so slices hold together

2. Season

  • Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with olive oil
  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic, and any optional seasonings

3. Roast

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C)
  • Arrange steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment
  • Roast 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until edges are browned and tender

4. Serve

  • Optional: drizzle with balsamic glaze or squeeze fresh lemon juice
  • Great alongside roasted potatoes, chicken, or grains

🔹 Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—air circulation makes edges crispy
  • For extra flavor, roast with halved garlic cloves around the steaks
  • You can also finish under the broiler for 2–3 minutes for caramelized tops
