Butter Toffee Pretzels

Posted on April 7, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious, easy recipe for Butter Toffee Pretzels—sweet, crunchy, and perfect for snacking or gifting:

Butter Toffee Pretzels (Makes ~4 cups)

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups small pretzels (mini twists or rods)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 225 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips for drizzling or dipping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make toffee:
    • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
    • Stir in brown sugar and salt, and bring to a boil. Let boil for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly.
    • Remove from heat and stir in baking soda (mixture will foam).
  3. Coat pretzels:
    • Place pretzels in a large mixing bowl. Pour hot toffee over pretzels and stir quickly to coat evenly.
  4. Bake:
    • Spread coated pretzels on prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
    • Bake 5–8 minutes, stirring halfway, until the toffee is bubbling and slightly thickened.
  5. Cool & optional chocolate drizzle:
    • Let pretzels cool completely on the baking sheet.
    • Optional: melt chocolate chips and drizzle over cooled pretzels. Let chocolate set.
  6. Serve or store:
    • Break into clusters if needed. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Tips & Variations:

  • Nutty twist: Add chopped pecans or almonds to the pretzel mixture before baking.
  • Spicy-sweet: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the toffee for a kick.
  • Chocolate-covered: Dip half of each pretzel in melted chocolate for an extra indulgence.

If you want, I can also give a one-bowl microwave version that makes buttery toffee pretzels in 10 minutes—super quick for last-minute treats.

Do you want me to share that microwave version?
