Broiled lobster tails

Posted on February 26, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, restaurant-style method for broiled lobster tails — tender, buttery, and slightly caramelized on top.

🦞 Broiled Lobster Tails

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 lobster tails (6–8 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Paprika (optional, for color)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Lobster Tails

  • Using kitchen scissors, cut the top shell lengthwise down the middle, stopping before the tail fan.
  • Gently pull the meat out of the shell and lay it on top. This is called “piggyback” style.
  • Pat meat dry with paper towels.

2️⃣ Season & Butter

  • Mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Brush lobster meat generously with butter mixture.
  • Sprinkle a little paprika on top for color, if desired.

3️⃣ Broil

  • Preheat broiler to high, position oven rack about 6 inches from heat.
  • Place lobster tails on a baking sheet.
  • Broil 8–10 minutes (depending on size), until meat is opaque and lightly browned. Internal temperature should reach 140–145°F (60–63°C).

4️⃣ Serve

  • Drizzle with remaining butter and serve with lemon wedges.
  • Optional sides: garlic mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.

Tips

  • Keep a close eye while broiling — lobster meat cooks quickly and can dry out.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a little Parmesan or breadcrumbs on top before broiling for a golden crust.
  • Brush with butter halfway through broiling for an extra glossy finish.

If you want, I can also give a grilled lobster tail version or a garlic-herb baked version that’s just as decadent.
